Description & Pictures
The Architecture Club is a didactic proposal from the field of architecture.

It takes place annually in the Luis Seoane Foundation in A Coruña in collaboration with COAG (Architects Association) and ETSAC (School of Architecture). The club’s main purpose is to perform outreach work on architecture in all its cultural, social, economic expansion… It is a clear commitment in defense of the profession by combining the efforts of the main agencies involved in training and defense of architecture.

For this, we opted for a series of complementary actions that target different sectors of the population:

1. Secretos de la Architectura (Secrets of Architecture) is a weekly course where
topics related to architecture are treated in a educational and informative way. There is only one rule: ITS FORBIDDEN TO SPEAK OF YOUR OWN WORK. Every Thursday the students of the course, most of them from outside the professional fields of architecture, learn and debate on various issues. The club runs during the week through social networks where debate continues…

2. Acerca da Integración das Artes (About Integration of Arts) is a course that takes by title the text written by Luis Seoane in 1962 for the University of Buenos Aires. Explores the interdisciplinary relationship between arts and has the architecture as the backbone of the program. (Course in progress)

3. Nenoarquitectura workshops. It´s a course for the smallest of the house. Using the LUPO SYSTEM teaching materials and adapting part of the topics of the secrets course, children learn basic skills of the profession through play working with the senses, scale, proportions and unleash their creativity in these workshops.
4. Specific Seminars. Small format meetings where topics requested by the club members are treated. Film and architecture come together in the seminar Architect, camera, action …! based on the Arquia documentary collection and supplemented by specialists in each treated biography. Seoane FabLab develops a parallel course about design and digital manufacturing.

RANELAGH.
Ranelagh is collaborative action that brings people to work together. It was a participatory workshop held with recycled material from old museum exhibitions and that was the basis for this practical workshop that where people built a modular construction that provides support for various exhibitions. Regardless of the final aspect of the construction, the process, based on intergenerational collaboration was the true protagonist of these sessions.
